Thai Acrylic Fibre, part of the Aditya Birla Group, will now incorporate FibreTrace technology into its Regel recycled fibre. This innovation embeds a non-toxic, luminescent pigment ID directly into the raw fibre, acting as a ‘digital passport’ that tracks the fibre’s journey from production through to the finished garment.

The FibreTrace marker, which remains invisible throughout the process, can be scanned at any stage, whether during dyeing, spinning, or garment production, providing brands and consumers with real-time verification of the fibre’s origin and journey.

According to Danielle Statham, founder of FibreTrace, the partnership aligns with the company’s mission to deliver end-to-end traceability across the entire textile supply chain. "We are proud to partner with Thai Acrylic Fibre. They are the 5th largest producer and the 2nd largest exporter of acrylic fibre worldwide and have been instrumental in rigorously testing our technology, ensuring successful integration and pigment invisibility during the production of their Regel recycled fibre," Statham added.

Tuhin Kulshreshtha, VP of business development at Thai Acrylic Fibre, highlighted the importance of this partnership for the future of the textile industry and said, "By integrating the FibreTrace technology into our Regel recycled fibre, we are providing our customers with an unparalleled level of trust and accountability across the entire supply chain, which we believe is essential for the future of the textile industry."

Looking ahead, both companies plan to expand the use of FibreTrace technology into additional product lines, reinforcing their shared commitment to transparency and sustainability.

In June, FibreTrace partnered with industry giants Target Corp and Cargill to pioneer the real-time verification of US and Brazilian cotton throughout the global supply chain.
